JM's Eagle Project

The Humanitarian Service Project located in Carol Stream Illinois recently moved from their old building that they occupied for 27 years into a new warehouse which has the storage capability that they needed. Many people volunteer their time and energy into helping the HSP package and ship many items that are needed by the elderly and other less fortunate persons. JM's project was to create a “Volunteer Picnic Area” so that the volunteers can have a place to take a break from their work. The only outdoor rest area that the HSP had was an old picnic table that was unusable.

Before Pictures

JM's project included:

• Building/Refurbishing two 8 foot long picnic tables
• Digging out a 25ft by 16 1/2ft patch of sod and fill it in with wood chips
• Planting two trees at the ends opposite to the building to make it look nicer and fill around them with wood chips
• Planting five bushes and four flowers in between the two trees
• Creating a path of stepping stones from the sidewalk to the picnic area
• Planting flowers along the path

Troop 374 answered the call and turned out in great numbers!
